According to European Environment Agency,
The natural environment can benefit our health and quality of life, while environmental pollution has significant costs.
Climate change is not just an environmental issue – it is also a health issue.
Several European Environment Agency assessments make the link between environment and wellbeing very clear. Despite progress over the past decades, pollution and other environmental risks continue to harm people’s health in Europe while improving the state of our environment and mitigating climate change can deliver both direct and indirect benefits for everyone in Europe.
Our Environmental Health experts will introduce topics of interest from the environmental health sciences to inform us about environmental risks and their consequences for our health. They will cover key concepts of environmental health related to the most significant environmental risks, including climate change, radiation, chemicals, and air pollution.
They will also present identified solutions to reduce these risks, available actions, interventions, and policies to decrease exposure to environmental risks and reduce the associated burden of disease.
